Green Building Projects

All of our projects are designed for longevity and energy efficiency.

Extreme Green

These homes perform with 60 to 75% energy savings compared to a standard construction home. If we incorporate alternative energy strategies—active solar, passive solar or geothermal sources—the efficiency can be even greater.

Our research in building high-performance, non-toxic structures introduced us to several green building methods. Our favorites are:

Durisol, composed of mineralized wood chips pressed into a wall form with a layer of mineral wool insulation and filled with reinforced concrete.

Aerated Autoclaved Concrete made of sand, cement and lime. This is a complete building system with solid light-weight masonry blocks and floor panels.

We also have experience with RASTRA, Polystyrene wall forms, SIP panels, Timber frame and dome structures.

Sustainable Standard or Timber Frame Construction

These homes are built with standard 2×6 wall construction, with a high-standard insulation package, where we can achieve about 30% energy savings.

We can incorporate green and sustainable aspects into a compact and functional design.

Additions and Remodeling

Bringing new life to an older structure through repairs and upgrades extends the life of an existing house. This sustainable process is very rewarding and bridges the past and the future.

Retreat Centers and Community

The inspiration for these projects is the new interpretation of life for a community at a new time and day with a specific group of people at a specific place.

“Building art is a synthesis of life in materialized form. We should try to bring in under the same hat not a splintered way of thinking, but all in harmony together.”
