Alice Dodson Architect, principal, AIA member
Alice has been practicing architecture since 1977. After
14 years of experience in different architectural offices
starting in Europe, then in California, and North Carolina,
she started her own practice in 1991 in Asheville, NC.
She was educated and trained in Europe and in the United
States and traveled and gathered information from a variety
of cultures in Europe, Asia, and in America. She calls
upon her professional and personal life experiences to
create with you and for you an optimal design and provide
you with the best services.
Four of us work together in our Asheville office in
a cooperative way as independent contractors.
We set up the team on project by project bases, focusing
on custom residential design, branching out to living
related commercial projects like; small neighborhood
planning, recreation, and retreat centers.

Barney Woodard Architect,
AIA senior member
Barney is a registered senior architect with strong
commercial and residential background. Barney has been
working on Camps and Retreat facilities, Fire stations,
Health and School facilities beside custom residential
design.
Janet Peterson,
CAD operator and Technical Manager
Janet lived in Chapel Hill, NC for 21 years where she
specialized in Computer Graphics. After moving
back to the mountains in 1996, she combined her computer
skills with her love of design and construction by learning
the 3D Architectural software, ArchiCAD. She has worked
with several architects in the Asheville area and with
Alice Dodson Architect for the past four years. Janet
also earned her General Contractor license and builds
two to three houses a year.
Mark Gillis Architect
Mark Gillis is a registered architect since 1997. His
experience is in commercial, religious, and residential
design. He has interest in applying current cutting edge
technologies both in design and production.
